History Des Lauriers & Associates Des Lauriers & Associates, Inc. was founded in
1986 as a land-surveying corporation serving the real estate industry
and local governments. Since that time we have researched, located,
and mapped over 125,000 individual properties in hundreds of New England
cities and towns. Each of these has involved extensive research of local
government departments, land use regulations, and a variety of maps. To increase the value of the solution to our growing customer base, we began using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology in the early 90's. The marriage of digital mapping technologies and land survey initiatives allowed us to provide an unsurpassed level of service to our clients. During this time, Dorian A. Des Lauriers - Company
President, served on a number of commissions and boards in the local
government arena. It was during this time of automating our offices,
emerging GIS technology and involvement in the local government process,
that the opportunity and need to fundamentally change and automate the
way local government provides municipal land management services became
clear. Extensive research, development and testing were done into the
workings of local government and emerging technologies. The result of this research was the Geographic
Tracking Municipal Solution (GeoTMS). GeoTMS provides local government
the ability to automate many processes throughout the municipality.
GeoTMS also adds a new dimension to the view of the municipality- geographic.
Through this geographic perspective the municipality can answer questions
like:
