Building
Code Enforcement
The Building
Code Enforcement (BCE) module tracks all inspections maintained by the
Building Department. The BCE module manages three distinct types of inspections:
building construction permit inspections(created through the Building,
Electrical & Mechanical Permits module), building code enforcement
inspections (including complaint and proactive), and periodic inspections.
With this
module you can:
- Schedule
inspection dates and times
- Record
inspections either while in the office or directly on the site
- Record
violations found during an inspection
- Notify
people of renewals or violations using module standard or custom
documents designed by the department
- Issue
certificates once the inspection has been satisfactorily completed
Once the
inspection records have been entered, inspections are recorded and tracked
using specialized BCE module features including:
- Checklists
that can be created and customized to each inspection type tracked in
this module
- Two
operation modes: an office mode where work is completed while
connected to the network (ex scheduling inspections), and a field mode
where inspections are recorded on checklists using a laptop computer
separate from the network
- A
data security mechanism that ‘locks out’ inspection records
that have been downloaded onto a portable computer
- A
periodic inspection batch renewal mechanism that allows users
to generate letters and labels simultaneously for annual and periodic inspections
that are due
The information
maintained by the BCE module can easily be accessed and reported in a
variety of ways including:
- Screens
that display summary or detailed information as needed
- Inspection
certificates tailored to each inspection type
- Violation
tickets generated from violations found during an inspection
- Summary
and detail printed reports generated based on criteria selected
- Printed
blank and completed checklists
- GIS
map displays of the parcel and abutters to the parcel of the
inspection record
