The Massachusetts Municipal Association is a nonprofit, nonpartisan association that provides advocacy, training, publications, research and other services to Massachusetts cities and towns. The MMA is the only statewide organization that brings municipal officials together to establish unified policies, to advocate these policies, and to ensure the effective delivery of services to community residents.
The Connecticut Conference of Municipalities is Connecticut's statewide association of towns and cities. Its 144 member municipalities contain over 90 percent of the state's population. CCM represents municipalities at the General Assembly, before the State executive branch and regulatory agencies, and in the courts. CCM provides member cities and towns with a wide array of other services, including management assistance, individualized inquiry service, assistance in municipal labor relations, technical assistance and training, policy development, research and analysis, publications, information programs, and service programs such as workers' compensation, liability-automobile-property, risk management, energy cost containment, and revenue collection assistance.
As a private, non-partisan membership association of local governments in Rhode Island, The Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns mission is to represent the interests of municipal officials and to provide them services which enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of city and town services.
APA is a nonprofit education and membership organization. Members include practicing planners, planning students, elected and appointed officials, planning commissioners, and interested citizens. The American Planning Association and its professional institute, the American Institute of Certified Planners, are dedicated to advancing the art, science and profession of good planning — physical, economic and social — to create communities that offer better choices for where and how people work and live.
MEHA is an affiliate of the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA), which was incorporated in 1937. MEHA was established in 1948 and is a non-profit association organized for charitable and educational purposes. The goal and purpose of MEHA is to provide quality training and educational programs while also providing the opportunity for members to meet and exchange ideas and information with other professionals in the field of public and environmental health.
The mission of the Massachusetts Health Officers Association is to assist and support staff of local health departments in meeting their statutory responsibilities to the public through programs of education, technical assistance, representation and resource development and by providing educational and informational programs to the general public on public health topics.
Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commission’s mission is to educate and support Conservation Commissions. In addition, MACC works for strong, workable, science-based laws and regulations regarding wetlands, other water resources, open space, and biological resources.
